L'Oasis Lodge in Arusha
As we turned off the main highway toward our lodge at 10:00 last night, we were all exhausted after almost 24 hours in transit. It was dark, and the dirt side road was so pitted with pot holes that it took us about 10 minutes to travel less than a kilometre to the lodge. That, combined with the abundance of locals staring curiously at us as we drove past, made it a fairly intimidating introduction to our home for the first two nights in Tanzania. This morning as we walked around and explored the area, however, the boys realized that there's really no reason to be intimidated and that the locals are quite friendly. We've already started to learn some simple Swahili words, and as you can see from the photos above, we're enjoying the amenities of our lodge. Tomorrow we depart for the first major segments of our adventure, so the next update won't be for about six days. Until then, take care.
Great to see that you have arrived safely. Good luck on the rest of your adventure!
ReplyDeleteyes, the tanzanian locals are known to be nice.
ReplyDelete"gina yangu iko john, gina yako iko nini? can be an introductory line and it means "my name is john, what is yours"
swahili is a fairly straightforward language. enjoy!!
That's obviously what a lot of money may be spent for a very short period. This is where you attract customers rather than seek them. It is possible that network student loan people has the edge. Give people something to believe in it.
